Wivenhoe Film Club
The Wivenhoe Film Club was founded in 2002 for the enjoyment of film in the unique atmosphere of the Nottage Maritime Institute. Our season runs from September until April, usually with two screenings per month on Wednesday evenings. Doors open at 7.00pm for a 7.30pm start. It is a members club, but guests are welcome. The Nottage has recently upgraded its equipment, so we now have at our disposal a brand new projector and a larger, 3-metre wide screen to improve the viewing experience. We aim to screen a varied selection of high quality international films, many of which have been ignored by the major cinema chains. Themed refreshments and comfortable seating add to the welcoming ambience. Membership costs £10 per annum and further information can be obtained by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or going to the website: www.nottage.org.uk/film-home.php
Moving Image is the public name of a charity, Wivenhoe Film Theatre, set up to show films and educate the community about film. Our policy is to show the best quality contemporary films that we can, from the English speaking and other countries, as soon as possible after they are released on DVD. We show films on most Tuesday evenings of the year, in the William Loveless Hall, at 7.30pm. We also show the occasional family film, at 3pm, and Classic films. You can join our mailing list by writing to email@example.com and we have an excellent website where you can find the films we are planning to show: www.movingimage.org.uk Membership for the year costs £10 and you only have to attend five showings out of the 30+ that we show a year to make savings.
